Prayer Guide

“Pray, then, in this way:”

When our Lord taught His disciples to pray, He didn't merely teach them 'what' to pray, but 'how' to pray. He gave them a pattern that teaches us what ought to occupy our prayers.

The Lord's Prayer begins with God — His Fatherhood, His name, His kingdom, and His will — before turning to our needs, our sins, and our dangers. It teaches us to lift our eyes beyond ourselves and to bring the whole life of the Church and the world before our Father.

This guide follows that pattern. It is not necessary to pray through every point at every meeting. Sections may be assigned to different people, rotated through the weeks, and supplemented with particular needs as they arise.
